As a graphic designer, I am always looking for new assets to add to my resources. It is great to have a large collection of assets to choose from whether it be a font, photograph, or graphical element, so you can find the perfect complement to your project, but it can be costly. Here are some of my top choices for when I'm looking for a new asset to add to my collection.
Known for their beautiful photography. Unsplash is my number one source for free images to add to my project. The images are of high quality and feel editorial instead of being a cheesy stock image. Another great benefit of Unsplash all images are royalty-free and you don't have to site them in your project.
Every week Creative Market offers 6 free goods. It varies week to week but usually consists of a mix of fonts, templates, graphic elements, and stock photos. Also if you spend $15, for the next two weeks you get an additional 3 free items. You have to sign up for their emails to get free goods, but they don't overload your inbox. Every Monday I'm excited to check my inbox to receive my 6 free goods.
Working on creating your portfolio and want to make your pieces shine, try a mockup. Mockup World offers an assortment of mockups that allow you to place your design on. It's amazing how seeing your design on a mockup makes it seem like a tangible product by placing it into a real-life environment.
